- Playing Online Backgammon with real money
Playing online backgammon is exactly like playing the board game version, the only difference is that here you can meet people from all around the world. You will be playing with people from different countries and cultures, and best of all, you can take money from them if you play well!
To begin playing for money, you will need to register and make a deposit in your new account. Once you do this, you will be able to start playing the game. You can either start in a pre existent board or create a new board. At both there is an obligatory starting bet, and the winner of the game takes it all (except a little fee)
- Modes of the game: Series and Unique
Before you start playing backgammon, you have two options:
Series: This series of backgammon games ends when a player wins and reaches a pre-established amount of points. At each game, the points awarded to the winner are the value of the Doubling Cube multiplied for the type of victory. (Winning a Gammon is 2 points, winning a Backgammon is 3 points)
Unique: This is the regular style of the game. For each separate game, the player that loses has to pay the winner the initial bet multiplied by the value of the Doubling Cube and multiplied by the victory type. (By 2 if it is a Gammon or by 3 if it is a Backgammon)
- The game clocks
There are two types of clock at the backgammon game:
Movement clock: This clock shows the time left for the player to make a move. It resets itself each time the player moves a chip. If the time runs out, the global clock starts ticking.
Global clock: This clock only starts running when the Movement clocks runs out of time. This clock is programmed to time all the game length.
- Connection failures and restarting the game
If your connection drops, you will have 5 minutes to reconnect and restart the game. To do so, you just have to log in and the game will restart automatically. If you fail to log in those 5 minutes, the game will be analyzed and the money will go to the player with more chances to win.
- The Doubling Cube
The backgammon game is played to reach a certain amount of points and win the bet. During the game, if a player thinks he has the odds at his side can double the bet. To do so, the player has to wait for his turn and before he makes a roll. The opponent can either accept or reject the offer, if he rejects the offer, the game ends and the player who doubled wins and collects the money from the bet. If he accepts, the turn goes to him and he can call for the next double up. The following doubles are called redouble. The players can redouble up to 64.
The Doubling Cube is used to mark in which doubling stage the players are at. It reads 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 and 64.
- Playing with immediate redouble
There is an optional rule that allows the players to redouble immediately after one of them doubles and keep their turn. The player that doubled can accept or reject the redouble just like in a regular redouble.
- Object of the game
The object of the game is to take all the chips to the Home Board and then take them out of the board. The player who accomplishes this first is the winner.
