Using its third season in Cannes as a platform, the World Series of Backgammon will launch its online platform by the end of this month. It’s an online site where the registered players will be able to take part in tournaments for money and in classification tournaments in which they will be able to win seats in live tournaments.

On the other hand, Backgammon has crowned his most recent world champion after a hard competition in Monte Carlo. The Japanese Masayuki " Mochy " Mochizuki defeated reigning champion Lars Talbot, of Denmark, and turned into the first Japanese world champion of Backgammon.
The 34th edition of the Annual Championship of Monte Carlo took place in the well-known five star hotel Fairmont Hotel and gathered 173 of the best Backgammon players in the whole world. These players competed for a part of the 200,000 Euros jackpot, one of the biggest jackpots in the history of this competition.
The thirty-year-old Japanese Backgammon master defeated Trabolt 25 to 20 in the final of the championship and took home the biggest prize of 62,280 Euros. The final was an exciting game that the crowd enjoyed minute to minute.
