Motif is a java applet used to play backgammon against a computer. With this program, you can play backgammon all by yourself; you do not need a partner to have all the fun the game has to offer.
Some may ask how fair this game is, or if the dice roll, are fair and random. Well, the answer to all of this is YES. The game is fair, Motif does not like cheating, and the rolls are generated randomly. Sometimes it may seem like the rolls are better for Motif, but try to convince me that it doesn’t happened to you at a land-based casino… Come on.
The game works with predictive software that allows Motif to calculate the best possible move accordingly to the roll it obtained. Once Motif makes the roll, it calculates which chip to move and the risk of that move in the future.
Its creator Tom Keith runs a site where he answers all the questions about Motif and receives all the feedback that players around the globe send to him. Thanks to this, he can work on the improvement of the game and its playability.
