Backgammon Masters has invited the Guiness World Records Edition to presence what is supposed to be the world’s farthest Backgammon dice roll. The event will take place in a tournament, which features two of the best backgammon players ever, playing with a 1-acre board. The event is to promote the company’s Freeroll Tournaments, which take place online every Tuesday and Friday.
The two backgammon world champions will begin by throwing the dice from a flying helicopter that will be 200-300 feet above the 1-acre backgammon board. The dice is especially designed for this event, as it is made of inflatable material which will prevent any kind of breaking. After the dice have been rolled, the players will communicate through walkie-talkie to their own staff below, who will then move the 3-foot pieces according to the player’s directions.
The pilot of the helicopter is the well-known Quentin Smith, who is an expert concerning safety procedures, regulations, etc. His flying experience in arctic territories and crossing deserts, gives this pilot absolute confidence in managing the skills necessary for the event.
The prize for the winner is a 1,000 euros custom made valued dice, while the money made through tickets will be donated to charity. Whether it’s the man with the longest nails in the world, or the world’s biggest cookie, the Guiness Book of Records is characterized by having outrageous world records, and this is no exception.
