Mind Sports Worldwide, a company based in London, has decided to hold the first Middle East Mind Sports Olympiad in Dubai. The Olympiad will consist of a series of workshops to teach skills in several mind games like backgammon. Workshops will be followed by a competition to test the abilities of players.
If you have a good memory and can memorize cards in order from a standard deck or if you are able to memorize numbers in order from a random set, then the Memory competition is for you. If you are a good strategist and enjoy a good head-to-head competition, then backgammon is your game.
This year’s competition will also include two chess championships and a creative thinking test intended to challenge people who come up with unusual answers for simple questions. However, organizers expect backgammon to be the main attraction among mind games fans.
The Middle East Mind Sports Olympiad will be held at the Vendome Plaza Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
