Mobile phone game developer Gameloft announced this week the launching of its new product called “Chess and Backgammon Classics” for iPhone. Both games use the features of the Apple phone for the gameplay. In Backgammon, you have to shake the iPhone in order to throw the dice, while in chess the pieces are moved by dragging and dropping them in the touch screen. For both games players can choose 2D or 3D views of the board.
Besides, players can select different difficulty levels, a promised almost human artificial intelligence and a wide variety of themes and designs to renew the look of the games from time to time. There are three game modes: Instant Play, Quiz and Classic Games.
"We're delighted with the broad appeal of the applications we'll have available on the Apple App Store at launch," Gameloft president Michel Guillemot said. "Our best-selling titles have been specifically redeveloped and revamped to leverage the revolutionary features of the iPhone, and we are confident that iPhone owners will enjoy this new experience in gaming."
Both backgammon and chess are two of the most ancient and popular games of all times. There’s no doubt this new version of two classics will soon have a lot of fans around the world.
